Muireann Hannon
B.Mus, P.D.E. (Music)
Teaches Traditional Irish Music Group, Flute, Tin Whistle, Concertina, Junior Fiddle and Junior Accordion.
Muireann is an honours graduate of University College Cork where she was awarded a Bachelor of Music degree. While at UCC, she was a key member of the Traditional Irish Music Society and performed at several high profile events including President Michael D. Higgins’ visit to UCC as well as From the sources sound art installation at the Glucksman theatre. She recently received the Professional Diploma in Education (Music) from the University of Limerick.
Muireann has won numerous prizes in competitions: including several County solo titles on Concertina and Piano, fifteen Munster medals and six All- Ireland titles to date. She enjoys travelling around the world teaching and performing Irish music, most recently in the Irish Music School of Chicago, Illinois.
Muireann has considerable experience preparing students for the SCT (Scrúdú Ceól Tíre) Irish traditional music exams, teaching traditional music groups and teaching individual students.
